SAY YES: A Liturgy of Not Giving Up on Yourself

Juxtaposing story-teaching, participation, humor, and image curation, artist Scott Erickson walks us through the very personal and universal conversation about the death of a dream and the overwhelming voice of Giving Up in our lives.

“Say Yes: A Liturgy of Not Giving Up on Yourself” is a multi-sensory experience that reveals this moment not as an ending but as a sacred doorway into a much deeper invitation to our hopes, vocation, and our existence itself.

Know Your Number Enneagram Conference

On Saturday, January 25, 2020, the “Know Your Number” Enneagram Conference will be held at Redeemer Church in downtown Modesto. The conference will run from 9AM to 5PM.

New to the Enneagram?

“Know Your Number” is a foundational course and is the first step in working with the Enneagram.

In this workshop, Joey Schewee introduces the nine Enneagram Types. Each personality type is reviewed in detail, including an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the Types, and the likely interpersonal challenges that may be involved in an unhealthy expression of the Type.

This workshop is intended for those who want to discover their Enneagram number or are still unsure about their Enneagram number.

Do you already Know Your Number?

This workshop is also beneficial for individuals who know their Enneagram number, and now want to learn about where they go in stress and security. The more we know about these, the more we can choose to go to the healthy side of living in these numbers.

***Bonus Leader Session - Friday, January 24, 7-9PM

Are you a leader in your organization, business, school, government, church, or team? Please join us for this bonus session hosted on the Friday night before the conference.

Geared specifically for leaders, Joey will help us understand how the Enneagram is useful as we lead in our specific environments. Space will be limited for this event.

Common Ground | Gideon: Your Weakness. God's Strength.

Common Ground | Gideon: Your Weakness. God's Strength.

Common Ground Bible Study | starts August 27th,

Gideon: Your weakness. God’s strength. is an 8 session women's Bible study by Priscilla Shirer. When we hear the name Gideon, most of us think about his 300 soldiers or the fleece he laid out under the evening sky. But Gideon’s story is so much bigger than that—bigger than any one man and his mark on Israel’s history. Like everything else in the Bible, this is a story about God and His people. His love for them, as well as His strength operating in spite of their weakness—even through their weakness. And because God’s people includes you and me, Gideon’s story is also about us—our lives, our doubts, our struggles, and our possibilities as believers. From a state of fear, weakness, and insecurity, Gideon emerged as Israel's hero, filled with God's presence and His passion for deliverance. This study will encourage you to recognize your weakness as the key that the Lord gives you to unlock the full experience of His strength in your life. In what ways do you feel insufficient? Those places create the greatest opportunity to experience the sufficiency of God. Instead of ignoring, neglecting, or trying to escape your weaknesses, see them as the gifts that they are, given specifically and strategically by God to unlock the door of God’s strength.

Redeemer Men's Breakfast Featuring Former MLB/Modesto Nuts Player Ken Roberts: Waiting for the Call

Waiting for the call

Ken Roberts spent most of his professional baseball career waiting. Waiting to get into the game. Waiting for the call to the next level. As Ken waited for the call, God drew him closer to Himself. Through all the boringness, routine and mundane, Jesus never stopped pursuing Ken.

Ken will share how God has put stewardship on his heart in all aspects of life, not just baseball. He will draw from his experience of playing major league baseball and how through the ups and downs God remained faithful.

Ken played for the Modesto Nuts in 2013. He got the call to the majors in 2015 by the Colorado Rockies. He was then picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2015-16. He lives in Arizona with his wife and three daughters. They fostered and adopted their first child, their second child is biological, and they are fostering their third child. He currently owns his own sports performance facility where he trains athletes from middle school up in Scottsdale, AZ. He works with many MLB players including Robbie Ray of the Arizona Diamondbacks. His family attends Gateway Church in Scottsdale.

Hear Ken speak and enjoy time together with other men in our community. Tickets are $10 which covers the breakfast food and speaker. Coffee will also be provided.
